Bleacher Bums

A Vermillion Players dinner theatre at the Eagle!

Written by Joe Mantegna and directed by Liz Vincent, Bleacher Bums tells the story of die-hard Cubs fans watching the game in the bleachers at Wrigley field. Mick Peterson will play die-hard cubs fan Zig and Kelli Montgomery, a newcomer to Vermillion Players, will play his wife Rose. Sarah Bertram will play sun-worshipper Melody. Anthony Chunk Gullo will be calling the game from the bleachers as Greg and Dylan Webster will be calling the game from the booth as the announcer. Decker, the energetic Cubs fan, will be portrayed by another VP newcomer James Vant. Joe Diaz is taking another turn on The Eagle stage as Richie, a friend to all the “bums” (although no one wants to get to close to him). Brooke Lynn Tuftie returns to VP as the kid in the bleachers. And Marvin, the guy trying to make a buck off of everyone’s love for the Cubs, will be played by yet another newcomer to VP Grant Stuart. And the bleachers are nothing without a couple fanatics leading the crowds in some cheers – Cody Leach and Melissa Barton will make sure it feels just like Wrigley for our audience members. And Matt Boyd will try to keep the bums in line as the security guard. The show is being produced by Carrie Beth Curtiss.

Tickets are $35 for adults, $25 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased by calling (815) 844-1187 between the hours of 10:00-4:00 Monday through Friday.
